My YES TO list
I have had quite a few emails about my last post- “The Power of YES”, so I decided to share with you some of the current things on my YES TO list.
Not so very long ago, when we were in a better flow of financial abundance, I would have taken many of these things completely for granted. I would have just bought them or acquired them or done them and never given it a second thought.
Now, I find myself really looking at what is the most important thing, the biggest priority, the most necessary and the things which are going to give me most value- and that is not just from a monetary point of view.
This is also very tied into the feelings of GRATITUDE, although to me this feels very different from the exercises I have done before where I have said my list of I am GRATEFUL for Greg, my children, my friends etc.
I have never really got on with that approach and never really managed to create deep feelings of gratitude with that approach.
Somehow the feelings I have now, when something comes into my life that I have said YES to, are different. Maybe there is more genuine gratitude and appreciation. I can’t quite put my finger on it.
When you live totally from day to day, as we have found ourselves doing for months now, you tend to find yourself trusting much more in the Universe or a greater power (call it what to will) to provide for your basis needs.
OK, this is sometimes at the 59th minute of the 11th hour, however things seem to turn up as needed.
Maybe that is the difference between finding ourselves in that place of having to trust in the Universe and treating the Universe as a sort of shopping catalogue, that delivers every whim as requested!
So, here goes. Here are a few of things on my YES TO List for December:
- YES to ALL bills easily paid
- YES to Christmas presents for the family
- YES to Daily dog walks
- YES to Greg going to a couple of football games
- YES to Christmas Carol Concert and German Markets
- YES to Greg getting his Astronomy assignment done
- YES to Paying for next round of children’s exams
- YES to Christmas Pantomine
- YES to Finishing 2 outstanding bank/mortgage letters
- YES to Visiting family at the other end of the country
- YES to Cell phone top ups
- YES to Catching up with kids’ pocket money
- YES to Cinema discount card
- YES to finding right pieces for next Speech and Drama exams
- YES to moving my autoresponders and databases to a new server
When we worked out the total cost of the whole list, it did not really come to a huge amount. Although anything seems like a lot, when you are playing “elastic pennies” (that is- how far does it stretch?).
Some of the items have no cost to them, however by saying YES to completing them, there is a whole new energy and momentum around them.
One of the items we had on the list was Advent Calendars for all of us. We had struggled to find any, which were not cheap and tacky or ridiculously expensive!
However, today, Greg went to the local market and found 4 advent calendars, 2 with yummy Cadbury’s chocolate in them and 2 with even yummier Divine Freetrade Chocolate in them.
As today is the 1st December, the calendars were greatly reduced, to the princely sum of £1 each! (reduced from £5 each).
Thank You Universe, that was a very important YES TO delivered to us at a very affordable price!
In creating our YES TO list, we have put things on there that we intend to do anyway. However, when we then do them, it makes it all the more enjoyable and there is a huge satisfaction in crossing them off the list.
What’s on your YES TO List?
I would love to hear about some of the things you choose to say YES TO over the next few weeks and also when they come into your life.
Have a great day.
With abundant blessings.
Amanda Goldston
